HumanitZ Crafting Priorities
Crafting in HumanitZ is less about unlocking everything and more about reducing panic. The right bench removes a recurring emergency: bleeding, thirst, weak shelter, or unreliable repairs. The wrong bench eats storage and materials while giving you almost no extra stability. This page focuses on the upgrade order that makes the shelter steadily more independent.
| Bench or System | Why It Matters | Main Waste Pattern |
|---|---|---|
| Basic Workbench | Bandages, melee upkeep, starter shelter parts, and the first truly repeatable survival loop | Players delay it too long and stay dependent on random loot instead of controlled recovery |
| Cooking and Water Chain | Safe calories and hydration from predictable ingredients instead of emergency scavenging | Placed too late, causing every food shortage to become a dangerous town run |
| Ammo and Repair Support | Keeps guns and tools economically useful once a base is established | Consumes rare parts on junk weapons if you do not set quality thresholds |
| Defensive Structures | Turns the base from a storage room into a place that can survive night pressure | Built before the material pipeline is stable, leaving walls half-finished and expensive |
What to Stock on Purpose
Cloth, medical supplies, fuel, nails, and repair-grade metal should always have reserved storage. Those resources keep the shelter alive. Decorative parts, low-tier duplicate weapons, and novelty junk should be the first things cut when capacity runs tight.
A clean stash system also speeds loot runs because you stop bringing back items that never solve a real problem for the next week of survival.
Crafting Traps to Avoid
- Repairing every weapon instead of setting a clear quality floor for what deserves parts.
- Upgrading walls before food, water, and medical routines are stable.
- Hoarding rare components for fantasy late-game crafts while current runs die to basic shortages.
- Using storage space on junk loot that never outperforms one dependable crafted backup item.
