How do I survive the first night?
Find shelter immediately — any building with doors works. Crouch to stay quiet. Craft a Makeshift Bandage (Cloth Scrap x2 + Alcohol x1) and a basic weapon. Don't use firearms at night — the noise attracts every zeek in the area.
Where should I build my base?
Near a water source and away from major roads. Elevated positions (hilltops, radio towers) give you visibility and make defense easier. Avoid cities — too many zeeks and not enough resources to justify the risk.
What's the best weapon?
The Crossbow is the best early-mid game weapon: silent, retrievable ammo, and one-shots most zeeks with headshots. For late game, the Suppressed Rifle is king. Melee weapons are backup only — don't rely on them.
How do vehicles work?
Vehicles need fuel, battery, and occasionally repairs. They're loud — park 100m from your target and clear the area on foot first. The Pickup Truck has the best storage-to-noise ratio. The Motorcycle is fastest but has no storage.
What should I always carry?
Minimum loadout: 2 bandages, 1 food item, 1 water bottle, a backup melee weapon, and a stack of ammo for your primary. Optional but recommended: 1 Molotov for emergency crowd control and 1 painkiller for tough fights.
How does the day/night cycle affect gameplay?
Daytime: zeeks are slower and easier to spot. Nighttime: zeeks become faster, more aggressive, and harder to see. Plan scavenging runs during the day and base-building at night. Never travel at night unless absolutely necessary.
Can I play with friends?
Yes, HumanitZ supports co-op multiplayer for up to 4 players. Resources don't scale — coordinate looting trips. Assign roles: one builder, one scavenger, one farmer, and one defender works well for 4-player groups.
